Forget about work or worries and lose yourself in some of the great activities here at Ardlui Retreat. For those of you at home on the water there is a great range of water sports. Or maybe you would prefer a relaxing boat trip or spot of tranquil fishing? Don't worry if you are a bonafide land lubber; there is plenty to do on dry land too.

Each of us want different things from our leisure time and what may be the perfect holiday for one, may be the complete opposite for another. Which is why, here at at Ardlui Retreat, we make it our mission to cover all the bases.
There are plenty of watersports such as kayaking and wakeboarding or, slightly drier yet still active, pursuits of hillwalking or birdwatching.
Perhaps you feel that a holiday should be filled with days of doing as little as possible? Then how about a trip to an art gallery, some local shops, and a leisurely lunch of fine Scottish cuisine? And then back to base for a soothing hot tub, and er…a good book?
Something for everyone and the opportunity to do as much or as little as you like.

Outdoor Activities

Loch Lomond Wakeboard – open every day from the end of April through to October and with beginners/tuition packages available, have a great day out right next door to us from Ardlui Marina.

Go Country – based at Loch Ard, activities include quad biking, our unique waterpark, canoeing, climbing/abseiling, cliff jumping, archery, mountain biking, orienteering and many more

Fishing – There’s some excellent coarse fishing opportunities up at our end of Loch Lomond. Especially over the other side of the loch (a ferry from the nearby Ardlui Marina will take you there) but we’ve had some guests have a pretty successful fish already this season straight off the jetty. Visit www.lochlomondfishing.co.uk for more information about fishing on the Loch.

Alternatively, if you’d like a spectacular fishing trip arranged for you, contact Ian Mclaren on 07459 843 149 or drop him an email.

Cycling – The A82 isn’t the most relaxing of roads to cycle on but around Loch Lomond there are many great cycling paths with a variety of steep hill climbs and easy paths. Great way of exploring the area. Check out www.routes2ride.org.uk for routes. Hiring a bike? try www.canyouexperience.com

The Loch area is home to many beautiful cycle paths which vary from the exciting, adrenaline rush hill climbs, to slower, more serene paths through the flora and fauna. Cycling around the Loch is a wonderful way to explore the area more fully and you’re sure to meet friends along the way!

Golf – We are about 45 minutes drive away from over 15 golf courses. The closest being The Carrick ( www.thecarrick.com ) and Helensburgh www.helensburghgolfclub.co.uk
