FAQs

We’ve been collecting a list of frequently asked questions and thought we’d bring them all together in the one place.  If you can’t find the answer to your question here, please get in touch.

Generally, you can get entry to your property from 4pm on the day of your arrival.

Someone will be there to meet you when you arrive at Ardlui Retreat to show you around and give you your keys.  Our main gate has an intercom on it which is linked to the owner's telephone so simply press the buzzer when you arrive and you'll be taken care of.

No, all towels and bed linen are provided free of charge during your stay.  If you are taking part in watersports we would recommend you bring some additional towels though.

Our log cabins sleep up to 6 people with a double room, twin room and fold-down bed in the living area.

Yes, you do.  You can get a permit from the nearby Ardlui Hotel. The Boat Loch Lomond website is a great resource for all things boat and jetski-related.

Remember!  Your boat or jetski is moored for free at Ardlui Retreat. Every other holiday park with Lochside access will charge you!

There aren't many grocery shops within the vicinity of Ardlui Retreat....the nearest locations being Crianlarich and Arrochar.  Both of which are around 15-20 minutes drive away.

If you are travelling from the south, we recommend you do your main shop on the way in Dumbarton where you'll find an Asda superstore and a Marks & Spencers.  So far we've not found a superstore that offers a delivery service.

Also, please note that the log cabins don't have a freezer.

Ardlui Retreat is very child-friendly.  Check out our kid's adventure playground.

When booking, if you have any requests for travel cots, highchairs etc please let us know.  We have a plentiful supply.

Sadly, we're afraid not.  We've contacted them all and none of them are prepared to come that far up the loch.  On the plus side, it means you've got every chance of enjoying your holiday without seeing a single Tesco sign!

You'll enjoy a trip to Crianlarich for some supplies though!

The FInnish BBQ Hut is an all charcoal affair.  We do our best to ensure there is always some charcoal there but if you want to make sure then we'd suggest you bring some (as well as lighter fuel) along with you.

The hot tub is there for all residents of Ardlui Retreat to use.

What we have found however is that our guests are pretty good at sorting out use amongst themselves.

The BBQ Hut is for the use of all residents during their stay.  Our guests are usually pretty good at speaking to each other when they are up there and it all generally works out fine.  If you've got a special occasion where you absolutely MUST have exclusive access to the BBQ Hut for an evening, drop us a line and we can try to put you in touch with the other residents beforhand.

Ardlui Retreat is proving VERY popular with guests looking for that ultra-special location for an anniversary, special birthday or family get-together.  We can easily accommodate up to 30 people and if you are interested in booking out all of our properties we are always willing to discuss some sort of discount.

Yes, we do.  Contact us and we can hook you up with an award winning chef who loves to cook fantastic meals in Alt Na Lairage's large kitchen.
